My biological mother lived there until three years ago, but it has been vacant since she entered a nursing home. I visit about once every 1~2 months for ventilation and cleanup. It was added in Showa 56 and is connected to the house built a few years earlier. It is a two-story wooden slate roof, 6DK. Water supply and sewage system are available. In addition to the large number of rooms, if you take the sliding doors between the two rooms on the second floor, 6 tatami mats and 7.5 tatami mats, it becomes a large room of 13.5 tatami mats, and there are windows in three directions, which is very airy. Since it was a former general store, the entrance is spacious, and it can be used for various purposes depending on the renovation. There was a garage with a shutter, and I parked a light car. There was a large balcony above the garage, and it was used as a planter garden and a laundry drying area. The east side of the house faces the road, and the west side is a vacant lot. It is over 40 years old and needs repairs. It is about a 2-minute walk to the sea. There is a campsite and a swimming beach within a few minutes by car. The Shimanami Kaido can also be reached in a few minutes, so i3年前まで実母が暮らしていましたが、介護施設に入所してから空家です。

Ehime Prefecture, located in the Shikoku region of Japan, offers several advantages in terms of living standards compared to nearby prefectures. Ehime is known for its stunning natural landscapes, including scenic coastlines, lush greenery, and hot springs (onsen). Ehime enjoys a relatively mild climate with comfortable temperatures year-round, making it an appealing choice for those who prefer not to experience extreme heat or cold.
The cost of living in Ehime is generally lower than in major urban areas like Tokyo or Osaka. Housing, food, and transportation costs are also more affordable, contributing to a reasonable standard of living. If you're open to renovation, learning basic construction or renovation skills or hiring professionals can make it more feasible to purchase a low cost property in need of repair. While finding affordable housing may require some effort, the rewards of living in such a picturesque and culturally rich region can be substantial.
