Tamana City is blessed with many historical resources, such as rich nature such as the Ariake Sea, the Kikuchi River, Mt. Kodai, and the mountains of the Kinmine mountain range, as well as numerous ancient tombs. In addition, vegetables such as rice and tomatoes, fruit agricultural products such as strawberries and tangerines, and fisheries such as nori and clams are thriving.
In the northern part of the city, at the foot of Mt. Kodai, there is Tamana Onsen, which boasts a history of more than 1,300 years and excellent spring quality, while in the southern part of the city, there is Koten Onsen, which was the setting for Natsume Soseki's masterpiece "Kusa Pillow".
