This property was purchased in 2012 as a weekend villa within easy driving distance from Tokyo (western Tokyo) via the Chuo Expressway. Now that the children have grown and the family uses it less, the owner is offering it for sale. The house sits a short climb up the villa development steps from the parking area; from the windows you see only trees, so neighboring houses are not visible and the setting feels private and open. The lack of noise except for birdsong and wind, the ability to spend time among trees, and the clear sense of the four seasons offer an experience you can’t get in Tokyo.

The building is a single-story wooden house, but the dining kitchen and one Japanese-style room are raised by a small set of steps, giving the interior a playful, varied level layout. The spacious wood deck is suitable for barbecues from Golden Week through summer. The floor plan centers on a 10-jo living room and includes rooms of 8 jo, 6 jo, and a 4.5-jo dining kitchen.
