It is a town located between Ueda City and Tokura Kamiyamada Onsen. This is the house where my grandparents spent their old age. My grandmother passed away early, so my grandfather lived alone in this house for a long time. I wake up at a fixed time, take a walk in the mountains behind me, and have a cup of dinner at night. I lived a regular life like that, so I lived until I was 94 years old.

The entrance, 9-mat Japanese-style room, kitchen, and bathroom have been expanded. It seems that the Japanese-style room of four and a half tatami mats used to use a sunken kotatsu. The garden is small, but you can create a small vegetable garden. 玄関、9畳の和室、台所、風呂場は増築しています。四畳半の和室は以前に掘りごたつを使っていたようです。庭は狭いですがちょっとした家庭菜園ができます。祖父はトマト、きゅうり、なす、へちま、みょうが、ネギ、しそ、かぼちゃ等を育てていました。上田盆地の夏は日中暑いのでそうめんにすることもあり庭からみょうがとしそとりをするのが私の役目でした。祖父の育てていたみょうがの中に入って花芽を摘むのが楽しかったです。

冬は隙間風があり家族でこたつに足を入れて寝ていました。寝息が白く立ち昇るほどです。トイレは汲み取り式の和式便座で子供には夜のトイレは恐怖でした。

近くに千曲川があるので祖父は毛鉤の製作を頼まれることもあったそうです。それがまたよく釣れると聞きました。そんな祖父の思い出が詰まった家ですが空き家になって長いので手入れして使いたいと思われる人にお譲りします。建物は手入れが必要です。取り壊し等の相談にのります。
