Description

Until around 1995 (Heisei 7), the owner’s mother operated a ryokan here. After the mother’s death the family lived in the house until around 2003 (Heisei 15). They moved out after that but returned monthly for several years and now come back about four times a year to manage the property. The owner asks that any future use not cause trouble for local residents.

The toilet is a flush toilet. It’s a 2-minute walk to the tsunami evacuation site. Komuro-no-hama Beach (designated as one of Japan’s "Top 100 Excellent Beaches for Swimming") is less than a 10-minute walk away. There are seven rooms on the 2nd floor and three rooms on the 1st floor. The kitchen has an earthen (doma) floor. Parking is located about 50 meters away and can accommodate six standard cars. There is a single-story detached annex at the rear with rooms of about 8 tatami, 6 tatami and 2 tatami, and it also has a toilet and bath.

Known for its lush greenery, beautiful coastline, and rich history, residents enjoy a slower pace of life surrounded by breathtaking scenery, including mountains and beaches. The area is famous for its local cuisine, especially Katsuo no Tataki (seared bonito), and vibrant festivals like the Yosakoi Dance Festival.
