This property is located on Okinoerabu Island, famous for its exceptionally clear blue sea known as “Erabu Blue.” The island benefits from a warm climate year-round and is nicknamed the “Island of Flowers” because flower cultivation is widespread. Unlike many of the Amami Islands, there are no habu (pit vipers), so it’s safe to enjoy walking and exploring.

Okinoerabu Island lies between Okinawa and Kagoshima and is served by flights from Naha Airport (Okinawa) and Kagoshima Airport; flights from Naha began in 2018 (pre-COVID). The island is gaining attention as a tourist destination and a place to relocate to. There is also a ferry service. Convenience stores, drugstores and supermarkets are available, so daily life should be manageable. Attractions besides the sea include Japan’s largest banyan tree, spots where you can see sea turtles, and limestone caves.
