My family moved to Yakushima in 2023, bought a house in August, and lived there until March 2024. It is a southern area popular with immigrants with a warm climate and relatively good weather, and Yudomari Onsen is also nearby, with a large warehouse, a one-story house that is easy to live in, and a safe building that is made of concrete blocks and does not falter from typhoons. There is a hot spring within walking distance.

Currently, we have rented it out to a corporation as company housing, but it will be vacated at the end of February 2026, so you can move in after March.

The bath is equipped with a gas water heater. There is a wood-fired Goemon bath in the extension. Currently, there are no termite marks or leaks, but the toilet is a flush-type toilet (there are still quite a few bottons in Yakushima), there is no sink, and there is no water heater. The parking lot can accommodate 2 cars. There are two warehouses, one of which does not have a roof, so it needs to be renovated to use. In March 2024, all tatami mats were replaced, two fusuma sliding mats were replaced, some bathroom tiles were repaired, and the Buddhist altar was removed. It is a special warning area for land2023年屋久島に家族で移住し8月に家を購入し、2024年の3月まで暮らしていました。暖かい気候と比較的天気が良い移住者に人気のある南部エリアで、湯泊温泉も近くにあり、大きい倉庫があって、平屋で住みやすく、コンクリートブロック造で台風にもびくともしない安心な建物です。歩いて行ける距離に温泉があります。

現在、法人様に社宅として貸し出してましたが、2026年2月末に退去されますので、3月以降入居可能です。

お風呂はガス湯沸かし器がついています。増築部分には薪式の五右衛門風呂があります。現状、シロアリの痕や雨漏りはありませんが、トイレは汲み取り式ぼっとん便所（屋久島では未だにぼっとんも少なくないです）、洗面台がなく、給湯器もありません。駐車場は2台止められます。倉庫は2つありますが、その内の1つは屋根がありませんので、使用するには改修が必要です。2024年3月に全ての畳の表替えや襖2枚交換、浴室タイル一部補修、仏壇撤去を実施しています。土砂災害特別警戒区域ですので建て直し不可です（屋久島はほとんど警戒区域です）。

この家は昭和58年築で、建てた方は釣具屋さんをされていたようで、間取りはお店兼住宅にピッタリの間取りです。お客さんの車は家の前の県道から1つ入った旧道に停められます。県道横の一つ旧道に入った道沿いなので、車の音も気になりません。昭和のぼっとん便所が苦手な方は難しいかもしれないです。2024年4月23日専門業者によるシロアリ点検済みです。シロアリなしの証明書もあります.

Originally operated as a guesthouse by the owner’s aunt. After her death the property was managed by the owner’s father as a rental house. Vacant since August 2020. Located on a hill on the south side of the island; one room in the house offers a view of the Pacific Ocean.
