My late father was a carpenter and had this house built at his request. It serves well as a summer retreat and stays cool in summer. We often used it as a vacation home when our children were small. Now that the children have become independent, we would like to pass it on to someone who will use it. There are a golf course, hot springs (onsen), and ski areas nearby, so it can be enjoyed as a base for those activities.

On the property you can harvest wild mountain vegetables such as butterbur (fuki) and ostrich fern shoots (kogomi). A tara tree (Japanese angelica-tree) has been planted, so tara-no-me (angelica tree buds) can be gathered in spring.
