Get off at Shichirigahama Station, enjoy the world's best breakfast of ricotta pancakes, then have coffee time at Ron Herman. While you wait, relax on the beach. That's what life in Kamakura would be like! The Prince Hotel, surrounded by a large green space, is the gateway to Shichirigahama, and the town itself has a refined appearance. Near the mountain behind the Prince Hotel, there is a country house with horizontal boards that is perfect for this location. Behind the house, there is a vast slope and two huts. The current owner seems to have kept small animals, and although it is a corner of the refined appearance, it lives a rustic life. As for the inside of the house, the public spaces such as the corridors, stairs, and living/dining/kitchen area are well-equipped, and it feels like a hotel. There are also plenty of private rooms, so they can be set up as guest rooms. The attic room with a cute triangular ceiling is perfect for putting a billiard table in... and your imagination will run wild. If all the walls on the first floor were removed and a large one-room apartment were created, it could be used for private lodgings or as a corporate retreat and office.

Today's stage is about a 19-minute walk from Kamakura Station. After passing through Komachi-dori, we bowed to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine before entering. The fact that the walk passes through the grounds of Hachimangu Shrine is very Kamakura-like. The jet black exterior walls exude a mature look, with exposed natural wood eaves, and the exterior walls are made of highly durable charred cedar boards. The appearance has a deep texture! It raises expectations for the interior. The living room on the second floor is easy to use as the dining room and living room are clearly separated.

We are here from Gokurakuji, the ancient capital of Kamakura! Just 10 minutes from Gokurakuji Station. The location is surrounded by the greenery of the mountains, with a few houses lined up in nature. It stands out among the new houses. (The gate of the house next door is also amazing. These two houses are in a class of their own.) A magnificent gate. Wooden exterior walls. Beautiful tiled roof. Single-story building with a walkway. This is a Japanese house that should be preserved for future generations and should be preserved. We have been standing here for 76 years since 1940, and have been watching the changes in the surrounding area. And now, as we approach the 77th year since construction, we are looking for a successor. This atmosphere and style is not something that can be easily created even if you try to do so now. No matter how well the building is constructed, the owner is 77 years old. Maintenance and repairs may be more difficult than you can imagine. We may not be able to continue unless you treat the house with more love than the average person. We are looking for a loving successor who will accept all of this.

Wow! What is this?! The gate looks like the one I saw on TV when I was little, "Takeshi's Castle". My heart pounded as I passed through the gate, and it got even more exciting! On the left was a Western-style house. On the right was a bamboo forest towering over a very Japanese-style single-story house! Hmm? There's something on top of the single-story house. I climbed the stairs that continued along the mountain, and wow! These were traces that must have once been an open-air rock bath. This was my first time seeing such a property. It was far more interesting than I expected. There were stairs continuing above the open-air bath. Oh! I noticed it halfway up the stairs. It was on quite a high ground, so there was a nice view of the mountains. When I reached the top of the stairs, I was on flat land. Wow! There was a single-story house there. Wow! I could see the amazing sea. The horizon was as far as I could see. What a spectacular view. Wow. This is a private theme park. How should we prepare this huge property? It would be a lot of work to renovate everything, so maybe you could just renovate the one-story apartment on the hilltop with a spectacular ocean view and live there.

It's difficult to express the Japaneseness in concrete terms, isn't it? However, when it comes to each individual house, I think one of the points that makes us feel "Japanese" is that we can feel the history of the building from the atmosphere that is exuded from the exterior and structure of the building. It is because of the history that we feel a nostalgic warmth, like our grandparents' house, and it makes us feel at ease. That's when we came across this house. The interior has been renovated while the building as a whole has retained its history. In other words, it is a space that allows new people to live while retaining its "Japaneseness". What I particularly love is the approach from the entrance to the veranda. There is a tatami room right in front of you, and the atmosphere is excellent. The garden that can be seen from the veranda makes me imagine enjoying it in all four seasons. Even I, who was born in Japan, get excited about this property. I think people who come to visit from overseas will be even more pleased. This is also a place about 11 minutes walk from the famous Gokurakuji Station, which has a great atmosphere. Moreover, there are few places to stay near Goku日本らしさって、具体的に表現するのって難しいですよね。
