In 2002 I, together with my father who loved rocky mountains, purchased an entire hill—about 20,000 tsubo (approximately 66,000 m²)—to protect the satoyama of the national park from illegal industrial waste dumping. My father was 86 at the time and spent his days steadily clearing what was a jungle-like, unexplored mountain, but he passed away soon after. After I took over the maintenance, we discovered several beautiful hand-dug stone quarries from the Edo period scattered through the mountain, and in 2015 the area was recognized as part of the Izu Peninsula Geopark. Although we had ideas and plans such as turning the whole satoyama into a museum, I was not able to realize them on my own.

Every year we carry out tree care, and the trails require ongoing repairs because of typhoon damage and because wild boars dig up the paths while searching for food. There is no public support for maintenance of privately owned land. To cover the costs of protecting and maintaining the satoyama, we trained nature-tour guides and began operating paid guided tours as a business. Visitors have come by word of mouth from all over Japan. 毎年、木の手入れをはじめ、台風による被害や餌を探す猪に通路を掘り返される被害を受けるため通路の補修が必要です。しかし私有地には公的支援がー切ありません。里山を守る整備費用を賄うために、ネイチャーツアーガイドを養成し、有償での見学ツアーを事業として経営することにしました。連日、日本中から見学者が口コミで来てくださっています。しかしながら、私自身が高齢となり体力的に限界となりましたので、泣く泣く手離すことを決めました。

すでに手作りで自然散策路を整備してあり、そのまま営業継続可能な眺めのよい里山です。また、石切り場は、音響がよく音楽ホールにもなる世界で唯一無二の観光資源であり、学術的にも評価の高い歴史産業遺産です。

私自身は、整備費用が賄えればよいという戦略ですので、積極的に広報はしていません。それでも、ネイチャーツアーだけでなく、映像や写真の空間利用がされ、今までジオパーク全国大会開催のほか、NHKの大型ドラマ「精霊の守り人」「江戸城の石はどどこから運ばれたか」「世界不思議発見」、ドローンによるモデル撮影がありました。また歌手では壁面に星空をマッピングしての田村ゆかりさんの収録、コロナ禍で結婚式の代わりのフォトウェディングなどが行なわれました。

里山を守るための事業としての「里山丸ごとミュージアム」の企画事業（岩石、動植物のガイドを養成済み）を譲渡します。音楽、映像関係なら音楽収録やホールとして貴重な空間利用ができ、可能性を秘めたやりがいのある物件だと思います。

最近では2022年8月1日に150坪の平地を生かし、3組限定の小さなキャンプ場をオープンしました。ご希望によってこの事業譲渡も可能ですが、事業規模が小さく里山を守る費用には足りませんので、キャンプ場経営を主な目的とされる方には本物件のご購入はお断りしたいと思いま

This is a 1,000-tsubo (approximately 3,306 m²) mountain woodland in southern Minamiizu on a south-facing slope that runs long from north to south, inherited by the seller's father from his grandfather. After inheriting it, the father had considered building a villa, but in the aftermath of the asset bubble collapse he left it unattended. Recently I became passionate about camping and considered turning it into a private campsite, but I am not confident about commuting from Tokyo to manage it, and my parents wish to sell, so we decided to put it on the market.
