200 square meters is a huge house in Japan, most houses would average about half of that size. At the price you're looking in a decent size city you can find something either very small and/or very old, or you would need to consider a condo.

You might want to search this site by property size and price. Also, consider looking in regional cities like Fukuoka, Kumamoto, or Okayama. You can often find reasonably priced condos in those areas, and they offer a good balance of urban life and price. Just be open to downsizing a bit because 200 sqm is pretty rare unless you're far out in the countryside.
