It is a town with abundant greenery in Yokohama City. If you turn off the prefectural road beside the Maioka River that runs through the hills and climb a little, you will see a roof that looks like a helmet split in half. This building was designed by architect Jiro Motosugi (1932-2011). He is an architect who presides over Tokyo Design Office Co., Ltd. and has worked on numerous projects including houses and welfare facilities. His most famous work is his own house, the Jiro Motosugi House (1963). The former Tetsuo Motosugi House, completed nine years later, was the home of Jiro Motosugi's older brother and was also a project to rebuild his family home. The characteristic feature of this building is the deformed gambrel-like roof that is abutted against the L-shaped volume. The exterior is currently covered with corrugated steel sheets, but it seems that when it was first built, the roof was slate and the exterior walls were clapboard. There is a wide eaves space next to the entrance. Two branched round pillars, placed slightly off the center of the wall, strongly support the large eaves even though the building is more than 50 years old, creating a calm atmosphere in the verand横浜市の緑豊かな町です。
