In the northern part of Akita Prefecture, there is Kinasu Agricultural School, which became famous for high school baseball. This is a relatively young old folk house built in a rural area. As it was constructed by a carpenter himself, it features intricate craftsmanship throughout, typical of snow country buildings, and is built without using metal fittings. The foundation is made of durable chestnut wood, and abundant Akita cedar, known as one of the three great beautiful woods, is used for the pillars and upper materials. The farmhouse has a T-shaped layout, and the surrounding tatami room features impressive five-inch wide and one-foot-one-inch high sliding doors. Although part of the house was expanded thirty years ago, the main building remains unchanged, and no new building materials have been used. There is also a separate barn, making this a valuable property.秋田県北部に高校野球で有名になった金足農業があるが、正に農林地帯に建つ比較的に若い古民家である。自宅を大工職人自ら造っただけあって随所に手が込んだ、雪国特有の建物で金物は使わず造られている。土台は不朽に強い長物栗材、柱や上材には三大美林といわれる秋田杉がふんだんに使われている。農家住宅の田の字型の間取りで、座敷まわりには巾五寸×背一尺一寸の差し鴨居が使われており見ごたえがある。三十年前に一部増築されているが本屋部は元のままで新建材などは使われていない。別棟の納屋も有りお得な物件である。
